Ted Falcon

Ted Falcon is a exciting violinist and mandolinist who fell in love with Brazilian music and culture. As a performing artist, he has independently released eleven albums and published seven books. He has traveled the world as a headlining musician, performing in Japan, Europe, Brazil and throughout the U.S. In June of 2024, he performed in 11 cities in the U.S. and Canada with Forroçacana, a renown forró band from Rio de Janeiro. Falcon has performed with David Grisman, Mike Marshall, Rod Stewart, Hermeto Pascoal and has recorded with Ben E. King, Suzanne Vega and Terry Gibbs. As a studio musician, he has played on many string quartet tribute recordings for Weezer, the Cure and Linkin Park and appeared on national television programs including Young Sheldon, Judging Amy, Charmed and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Ted made his primary residence in Brasília, Brazil from 2008–2016, where he studied Brazilian music extensively, writing several choro books and teaching workshops. In 2016, he returned to Los Angeles and was an Adjunct Professor of Music at Whittier College, teaching World Music, Latin Music and the Music of the Caribbean. He is a long-time string teacher at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit school co-founded by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Come ready to dance to Ted Falcon and the Forrozeiros!  is a catch-all term for a number of different dance and music genres and styles from rural, Northeastern Brazil. Originally, any music for a dance event with percussion, and singing was called “forró.”
